Stadium

Koning Willem II Stadion (King Willem II Stadium) is a multi-purpose stadium in Tilburg, Netherlands, and the home ground of Willem II Tilburg. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium is able to hold 14,637 people, was built in 1995 and renovated in 2000 to add business lodges, a restaurant, conference rooms, business club and a supporter’s bar to the main building. The new stadium is built on the same spot as the old stadium, which had a smaller capacity and fewer facilities. This stadium was demolished in 1992. The original name was Willem II Stadion, but in 2009 the stadium was renamed Koning (“King”) Willem II Stadion, honoring William II of the Netherlands.

Review Hospitality Package & Sport Ticket

Hospitality Package

Business Arrangement

  • 3-course a la carte dinner pre-match with private table
  • Admission to Business Lounge and Schrobbelèr Football Café (pre- and post match)
  • Executive seating on the main stand half-way line
  • Half-time and full-time refreshments
  • Inclusive of wines, beers, soft drinks and coffee/tea
  • Watch Man of the Match presentation in Schrobbelèr Football Café
  • Dedicated waiting staff and hostesses
  • One allocated parking place per 2 tickets
  • Hospitality Entrance

Entrance for ticket holders in the possession of a hospitality ticket / package is done via the main reception entrance. This is located in the main building and is quite impressive when you arrive there. The allocated tickets can be collected at the main reception entrance. When Sportz Guru visited Willem II, we found the hospitality entrance and atmosphere there a little bit dark and uninviting (perhaps this had to do with the fact that we visited them in the Easter weekend).

    Restaurant

Included in the package is unlimited wines (red and white), beers, soft drinks and coffee/tea. This is a very good deal as the hospitality package (when having dinner) starts at about 2,5 hours before the game and ends 3 hours after the game.

With respect to food, the 3-course a la carte dinner provides different choices for starter, main and dessert and also gives you the opportunity to order a cheese platter (at a small additional cost) to finish a very good meal. Of course accompanying bread and butter as well as still and sparkling water is provided for. What was quite peculiar, was that we were given strict instructions to arrive at a fixed certain time otherwise the dinner had already started and that would give problems in the kitchen. This does give you weary thoughts when travelling to this football venue but in the end it turned out all right and this fixed time was not that fixed at all.

During half-time, tea and coffee with sweets was provided. Full-time refreshments included a variety of fried snacks. A point of attention here is that there were little vegetarian snacks. This gives some difficulties when visiting a match with vegetarian guests.

    Business lounge

Our tickets included access to both these hospitality lounges where the Business Lounge is the more formal lounge and the Schrobbelèr Football Café is the more informal lounge (both are located in the Main Stand). In the Business Lounge which has an interconnected restaurant, the a la carte dinner is served. The restaurant itself looks quite inviting, creating a formal yet intimate atmosphere. One could argue that some of the tables are located to close to one another which doesn’t give you that much privacy. On the other hand is also adds to the experience as we were able to have some very nice conversations with the other guests. During dinner the music beats from other business lounges cannot be missed… Both the restaurant and the business lounge do not have pitch views as they are located right behind the skyboxes which of course have full frontal pitch views.

The Business Lounge is a far stretched lounge with a very broad and long bar facility that provides ample opportunity to be served fast and efficient.

The Schrobbelèr Football Café is located one level below the Business Lounge on the ground level and provides a great post match atmosphere in a typical Football Café setting. Here is where the MoM presentations take place and where all the action after the match takes place.

What is great about the hospitality package at Willem II is that basically all hospitality areas can be visited, each one providing a unique atmosphere! Next to that the hospitality package ends about 3 hours after the final whistle so be prepared for a party atmosphere here!

    Seating

The seating is located in the executive stand at the half-way line. Sportz Guru is convinced that this is probably one of the best executive seating we have experienced thus far. Very big and comfortable seats with lots of leg room. You can truly relax here and enjoy the game. What is also great is that right behind you are the skyboxes where you can readily walk in and ask for that ice cold beer, wine or soft drink. Great!

One thing that could have been improved was the fact that despite numerous requests, Willem II refused to turn on the heaters. As it was quite chilly, that decision did raise some eyebrows with a lot of people who were seated in the business seats. Willem II Review Sport Hospitality Ticket.
